I am an

English major,

Welfare pays too little

Jesus stole

my girlfriend

I’m jealous

Don’t feed the parrot

before you put it

On your shoulder

12/1 Somehow Jim had

never kissed a girl. His

friends thought it was

strange, “aren’t you

supposed to get through

that in the seventh

grade?” They were

embarrassed, “Just don’t

tell anyone.”

But his family was

supportive. His grandfather

would say, “Who in

would want to kiss

anyone, it’s disgusting,”—

his grandmother would

say “You have plenty of

time.”

And Jim just shrugged

his shoulders and said,

“Whatever!”

12/3 Connie Cowboy

I was a Communist

Cowboy,

Ridin’ the wide open

range,

I always thought

I was Marxist, but

the others just

thought I was just strange…

“Your cousin Julie only eats

hamburgers when she

goes out. Can’t blame her,

everybody loves a good hamburger.”

Goops

12/6 The Children’s Song

I can hear a thunder

cros the ocean

I can smell the

smoke hanging in the air

They say the guns

might be a blarin’

For the first time in

many a year.

And it just makes me

cry

To think that I might

die, bleeding in a desert,

Bleeding your black gold

and it just makes me

cry
